Friday 4-H breakfast kicks off County Livestock Show horse events
The 41st Ward County Livestock Show opens with a Friday morning 4-H Ranch Breakfast and features a Saturday 8:30 horse show at the riding arena by County Coliseum. County 4-H and FFA members compete in 13 equestrian events plus a Parents Western Pleasure class, across three divisions: Inexperienced, Juniors, and Seniors. Awards include All-Around trophies and rosettes, plus highpoint horses. classes cover Halter, Showmanship, English and Western Pleasure, Reining, barrels, poles, keyhole, flags, and rescue race. A Production Buckle and Manship Buckle are planned, with announcements by James King and ring steward Charles Potts. The day includes a parade, Kids Kanine Karnival, and a Caged Pet category with six classes and Best of Show trophies. The public may attend with no admission.

Hammond seeks job as constable in Ward County

Kuykendall Named Citizen of the Year at Grandfalls Banquet
About 200 people attended the Grandfalls Royalty Chamber of Commerce banquet Saturday night when P. R. Jack Kuykendall was named Citizen of the Year. A longtime carpenter and contractor, Kuykendall has donated carpentry to widows and orphans, helped his church, and done renovation work for the local school district.
