Collision Damage Totals 300 Dollars Friday
A two car crash at South Dwight and East Third caused no injuries and damaged vehicles totaling 300 dollars. A 1955 Chevrolet two door sedan driven by 16 year old Johnny R Avent of Monahans and a 1961 Ford driven by 58 year old Hub T Buchanan of Monahans were involved. The Chevrolet sustained about 100 dollar damage and the Ford about 200 dollars. The accident occurred at 8 30 a.m.

Monahans Man Charged in Ward County Burglary
A 21-year-old Monahans man Billy Smith is charged with burglary and held on 1500 bond in Ward County Jail after admitting involvement in a February 10 warehouse break in on East Highway 80. Five cases of coffee and an adding machine were stolen. coffee was sold to a Pecos Mexican grocer but recovered by deputies. A 16-year-old Monahans boy involved will be tried in juvenile court. Both await the Ward County District Grand Jury convening today.

1958 Chevy Stolen From Church Lot
A 1958 Chevrolet two-door sedan was stolen Friday night from its parking space outside Monahans Baptist Church at Third and South Doris. The car belonged to E. O. McNeese of Big Spring. It was left unlocked with the ignition switch not in the locked position and keys were not in the ignition.

Crude Oil Burst Near Monahans Spreads On Highway
Oil gushed 50 feet high Friday night after a Gulf pipeline ruptured eight miles north of Monahans near the Ward Winkler county line. A hole 30 feet from the highway sprayed crude over the road in strong wind, creating a slick that slowed traffic while Gulf crews repaired the break around 8 15 p.m. Sheriff's deputies and patrolmen directed vehicles at the scene.

Winkler County Judge Backs Anti Annexation Bill
Winkler County Judge W. E. Cook of Kermit testified in Austin on Thursday for an amendment to limit home rule cities like Monahans from annexing land in nearby counties.
