A group of East 12th Street children staged a garage production titled Cinderella raising 10.05 for the March of Dimes. The cast included Jo Ellen Herrington and Tommy Holoway with parent support. The contract for a new school at East B Street and North Harry Avenue went to Jimmy D. Jones of Big Spring as low bidder at £40,480. Sept. Wesley Martin said construction starts immediately with 120 calendar days to complete. The four classroom building includes economics and science departments and an auditorium with offices and facilities.

Brother of Mrs McGill dies in Pawhuska Oklahoma

Four Sentenced in 143rd District Court This Week
Calvin Dwane Morris pleaded guilty to forgery and passing in Wickett and received a two year suspended sentence. T Richardson was found not guilty of robbery by assault by a jury. Willie T. Miles alias Wilder pleaded guilty to theft over 40 dollars from Cliff's Two and got a two year prison term. Luther Fred Minnix and Charles E. Gray were found guilty of armed robbery of Gaines Grocery in Wickett and each received five year terms.

County Sues Over Unpaid Contract Balance for Road Work

Three Injured Damages High In Traffic Mishaps
Three people were injured and seven vehicles damaged in three City Police investigated traffic accidents this week. On Monday at 7:52 p.m. George W. Slaughter and Patsy Irene Blair were involved in a collision at South Faye and West 6th Street with over $500 damage. Blair and passenger Pat Barrell were slightly hurt. Tuesday at 2 p.m. Eugene V. Hill and Leone Joan Jackson were in a minor crash on East 2nd Street. At 2:40 p.m. a wreck at West Highway 60 and N Eva involved a car driven by Robert E. Rose and a pickup driven by W F Kennedy. Rose’s car sustained about $500 damage and Kennedy was injured and hospitalized. Kennedy’s pickup was a total loss and Dail Page’s parked car was lightly damaged.

Two Cars Stolen Here Tuesday Recovered Quickly
City Police reported two cars stolen on Tuesday and both were recovered within hours. Murray Howze’s car from 206 S Allen was stolen Monday night and found Tuesday morning behind Henry's Gulf Station. W. H. Forestner’s car, taken from in front of the Blue Lantern at about 11:45 pm, was found at 1:50 am and returned to the same location.
