Humble Oil and Refining announces a new Production Department District Office at 19th and Stockton Avenue in Monahans opening today. The 6100 square foot steel frame building with central HVAC houses 21 offices, serving Ward, Winkler, Ector, Crane, Pecos, Reeves, Culberson and Loving counties. About 35 of the district's 140 employees will work in Monahans. production in the area comes from around 650 wells yielding 11,400 barrels daily.

A lone armed bandit robbed the Safeway Store last night of about 4750 dollars at about 10 o clock. Manager Bob Stockstill and two employees Clifton Mooring and Wayne Hargrove were held at gunpoint and bound with tape. The thief, a calm 24 year old man about six feet tall and 180 pounds, fled with the money. no prints were found and roadblocks failed to stop him.

Ward County Seeks Approved Plan to Settle Debts
