Dr. Ben Martin Edwards 50, pastor of the local Christian Church, died Monday in a Dallas hospital after a three week illness. Funeral Tuesday at Greenville Avenue Christian Church where he served ten years. he recently began serving here two months. Survivors include his wife Leona May Thorp Edwards a son Ben B. Edwards and a daughter Patricia Edwards two brothers and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Pyote Methodist Church for Violet Mae Bellomy 30 who died Tuesday in a local hospital. The Portales New Mexico native lived in Pyote over a year and a half and had been ill for nine years. She is survived by husband Gordon Bellamy and daughter Mae.
