Don Croft Injured In Well Frame Mishap
Don Croft a Monahans drilling contractor sustained a badly broken left leg Thursday when a water well frame broke loose and collapsed on him at the Peck Ranch 40 miles north of Sierra Blanca. He rode the frame down and was transported by pickup with his brother Bob and a ranch foreman to Pecos doctors then Ward Memorial Hospital for surgery.

Mrs. Kretzinger Injured In Auto Collision Saturday
Opal E. Kretzinger of Monahans suffered head and leg cuts when her car collided with a vehicle driven by 18 year old Helen Raye King of Wickett at the 10th Street and South Main intersection Saturday at 6 50 p m. Her condition was listed as improved and not critical. Joan King was treated for minor bruises and released. The other driver was unhurt. Mrs. Kretzinger was thrown from her car and the vehicle stopped in a yard near a house. No charges were filed as investigators continue inquiry by Monahans Police.

Seven boys and seven girls have been nominated for places on the Monahans Senior High School Student Council. Each will speak in assembly Friday after which elections will be held next Monday. Candidates for Council President are Jack Griggs Jimmy Kent Larry Lowe Weldon Price Donny Smith Robert White and Mike Hardaway. All but Hardaway will be seniors next year. Those receiving the three highest vote totals will be named President and 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents respectively.
