Ward Memorial Hospital administrator Bob Hill reported an unidentified out of state doctor will visit Monahans this week to assess the city as a potential office site. Local Citizens Honored For Public Service Roles In Ward County
Outstanding Citizen Cox and Youth Leader Arthur Carpenter were feted at the Ward County Chamber of Commerce Banquet for years of service. Cox chaired the Doctor Contact committee and earned placement on the Health Advisors Committee. Carpenter, born in 1934, is recognized for PTA work, coaching, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and community events. Mrs. Homer Steen received the 1974 Merit Award for volunteer work at Monahans Convalescent Center and community service through the Moonahans Chamber of Commerce.
