Monahans police logged 26 thefts and burglaries in January up from four in December as Chief John Ashcraft notes. Items stolen included two cars both recovered, a television set, hubcaps tools a rifle and other items. The department also cited motorists 101 times and issued 531 parking tickets. The Eye Hospital run by Knights Templar of America provides surgical eye care regardless of race creed or color to those unable to afford it.
