Texas Highway Commission awarded a 474 690 08 dollar seal coat contract to Jones Brothers Dirt and Paving Contractors of Odessa for 190 miles across eight counties including Ward Crane Ector Midland Upton Reeves Pecos Winkler and Loving. District Engineer Paul Coleman will supervise with Russell S. Neal in charge. The 60 working day project covers six Ward County sections along I 20 US 80 US 890 I 20 and SH 18 with specific mileage listed. Site work begins for two days at Pyote and Wickett on related leases.

Man Burned In Oil Field Blaze Near Wickett
Sammy Huey a 21 year old roustabout was severely burned on both legs in an oil field fire eight miles north of Wickett. He was taken to Ward Memorial Hospital and is listed resting comfortably after receiving first and second degree burns. The blaze was extinguished by Monahans volunteers and Halliburton employees in about an hour. the fire confined to the pit below the well head with minor damage to a pulling unit.

Davis Fails To Show Bond Forfeited And Reset
