Department of Public Safety conducted safety lane tests on Monahans main streets as part of a Texas campaign to improve motorist safety. Sergeant G E Shower of Austin led 536 local cars through checks of brakes lights windshield wipers and horn. Of those, 344 passed as ok and 192 were defective with brakes lungs mufflers lights horn steering and wiper issues listed. Mangled Body of Big Spring Man Found On R R
The mangled corpse of Grover Denzel Hanks twenty five of Big Spring was found on the Texas and Pacific railroad tracks nine miles east of town. The cause of death remains undetermined after an inquest conducted. identification came from a pocket paper and relatives were notified. His brothers and brother in law traveled to Mangahans to bring the body back for burial near Big Spring.

Two Men Arrested In Cigarette Theft Case

FORME RESIDENT DIES AT IMPERIAL TUESDAY
Jonas Reinertsen a former resident of Monahans died at his Imperial home Tuesday of an acute heart attack. Funeral services were held in Monahans Wednesday at the Baptist Church with burial in Monahans Cemetery. Born in Sogonal Norway August 11 1864 he came to the United States at 22. He lived in Stoughton Wisconsin and later moved to Grandfalls and then Imperial where he operated a general merchandise business. Survived by wife Edna Smith Odessa and son John W. Reinertsen Imperial.
