Poll Taxes and Exemptions Push Near 4300 in County
Tax Collector A M Bowman said receipts were issued up to midnight Friday with about 4100 poll tax receipts and 200 under age exemptions. An estimated 300 to 400 residents were over age and not required to hold either poll tax or exemption. The county's 1960 record was 4344 polls and exemptions.
