A local businessman consortium led by Pat Ramsey and Raj Chopra proposes a multi million dollar Gramsey Corp project on 10.57 acres between west Fifteenth Street and the I 20 access road. The plan includes 62 motel units at first, with 120 total units, a 24 hour franchised restaurant, 221 car spaces, and 18 truck spaces. If tax exempt bonds via Monahans Housing Finance Corp are approved, 88 apartments and 169 parking spaces would follow, with construction set to start next summer on land formerly owned by MR Oil Company.

A second citizen urged a January special election on allowing bingo by non profits, with January 16 tentative, pending petition validation and legal deadlines.
