Two four year olds are hurt in separate auto collisions in Mona, with Michael Powell, son of Mr and Mrs Jimmy Jones, injured near Trio Motor Co on South Stockton. He is in Ward Memorial Hospital in traction and improving. A 16 year old girl drove the car and left the scene. she was ticketed and turned to juvenile authorities. Pam Harris also injured and improving at Odessa Medical Center.
Ben Oliver, owner of the Firestone store at Fourth and Gary and a Texaco distributor, will become Humble’s distributor effective Jan. 3, 1967. A new $40,000 warehouse and bulk plant will be built in Monahans to house the Humble distributorship, with offices moving from Wink and plans to open by April 1 on the Grand Fall Highway between Interstate 20 and Humble offices.
A household at 705 S. was devastated by an early Wednesday morning blaze that caused extensive loss. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Nichols and their young son faced disrupted Christmas plans as firefighters battled the flames.
Larry Roper 27 of Monahans, Schlumberger employee, was electrocuted Wednesday near Wink while rigging down a well after equipment touched a high voltage line. An hour-long rescue failed. He died at Kermit hospital. Services set for 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Henrietta. Survivors include widow and two children, mother in Henrietta, brother in Odessa, grandmother in Henrietta. The family had lived there about four years.
Monahans City Council will give about 50 full time employees a Christmas bonus totaling just over 2300 dollars. The annual bonus will be presented tonight at the city Christmas party for employees and their families.

Federal officers from Midland and Ward County sheriff deputies captured Emory Gene Reed in Monahans. He used the alias Jayson Paul Starr and is held on a parole violation from Leavenworth. Reed faces possible Texas crimes as rapid action will send him to Pecos for a hearing before U.S. Marshal return.

The body of 21 year old Diane Stewart wife of a recently discharged serviceman was found hanging from a homemade swing frame at her in law's home south of Monahans on the Montex Chemical Co road just after 1 pm. Justice of the Peace Gilbert Griffin ruled the death a suicide.
A two vehicle collision at FM 1450 and State Highway 18 about eight miles south of Grandfalls at 8:20 Wednesday morning injured three people. Jack Haley of Pecos and Eunice Elizabeth Sturgess and Louise Tolbert of Fort Stockton were hospitalized with cuts and other injuries. Haley was eastbound in a pickup failing to yield, while Sturgess drove north on State 18. All three were reported in satisfactory condition.
