An explosion at Mobil Oil Co. in Coyanosa late Friday killed Bill Erwin, 30, of Kermit, who was dismembered while attempting to bleed pressure from a line to clear an ice block. About $2,000 in damages were caused by a string of weekend crashes starting near midnight. Vera Lois Clark of Jal New Mexico drove into a car parked near Brownies Grocery, pushing it into nearby buildings and a utility pole. Clark received citations for lack of control and excessive speed. she was treated and released. Police report about three similar incidents since daylight today.
