A wholesale candy truck overturned Tuesday afternoon about 10 miles north of Monahans. The driver was not seriously injured and candy was strewn along the highway for about 200 feet, according to Highway Patrolmen.

Ward county added four completed producers and two locations for field tests last week. Oil tests increased in West Texas with more locations and the same total completions and dry holes as the prior week. In nine counties 37 field tests and two wildcats were listed, up from 32 tests and four wildcats in 13 counties the week before. Andrews Pecos Ward and Winkler counties added wildcat locations, Ector and Yoakum tied in completed producers with seven each, Pecos Ward and Winkler four wells apiece, and several counties reported single completions or dry holes.

Ward County produced 9 719 625 barrels in the fiscal year ended August 31 ranking third among West Texas counties. statewide output rose to 489 841 208 barrels up from 470 611 3829 the prior year.
