Special Day invitation for Monahans at Southwestern Exposition
The Monahans Chamber of Commerce was invited to select a Special Day for the 1965 Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show January 29 to February 7 with a spotlighted introduction at the rodeo. A block of rodeo seats was reserved for advance local sale and there were plans for a local band, a cowgirl sweetheart ride, and riding clubs in a parade or Grand Entry. The piece contrasts this with a prior Dallas Cowboys invitation to the MHS Band, noting a TV appearance for limited time and urging caution not to be manipulated.
