Desert Sands Garden Club presents its fourth annual Tasting Tea and Style Show at 3:30 p.m. at Monahans Country Club. Members prepared a gala with delicious treats and fashions, featuring Nutcracker inspired music and decorations.
Sky's The Nutcracker Suite hosts a tea and style show at Monahans Country Club with Shirla's fashions in elegant evening wear, pant suits, and junior attire. Tea chairwoman Mrs John Dunagan highlights decorative entrees and a booklet titled The Nutcracker Sweets. Club history, charitable projects, and garden displays showcase 17 year legacy and 32 members led by president Mrs Ted Sprouse.
Texas Electric reports that using lignite coal saved customers 48.4 million last year and would have cost 87.2 million more if natural gas had been used. The company projects lignite and nuclear fuel to provide over half of output by 1983 as gas prices rise.
Kappa Epsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi seeks names of residents willing to share hobbies services or clubs to compile a community resource file in Monahans. Call Mrs Wilton Cox or Mrs P J Pettijohn to be listed and help keep the directory updated for easy access to speakers and programs.
The Sacred Heart Society of St. John's Catholic Church plans a Sunday bazaar at Ward County Coliseum from noon to 7pm on December 10. A country store, cake walk, crafts, and food booths will feature nachos tacos tamales and chalupas. Special 3 and 6 pm programs showcase children in Mexican costumes and dances under Mrs. Henry Marenco with Our Lady of Guadalupe honored.
Mr and Mrs Henry Sanchez announce the engagement of their daughter Elma to Ricardo Dominguez son of Bonifacio Dominguez and Mrs G Hernandez. They will marry January 6 at St John s Catholic Church Monahans. Elma is a senior at Monahans High School and works for Permian Coca Cola. Ricardo is a 1977 MHS graduate employed by Southern Union Gas. They will reside in Monahans.
