E L Short of Tahoka won the 73rd District legislative post in a runoff Tuesday against Andrews attorney Jim Clack. Short, 43, a farmer and businessman, led eight candidates in July but lacked a majority. He succeeds Randy Pendleton who resigned to join Gov. Preston Smith's Washington liaison office. the district includes Andrews, Gaines, Dawson, Lynn, Martin and Yoakum counties.
