Gulf employee helps drill historic wildcat
Bill Blakely and his wife Nancy recently completed a three month stint in Kuwait as a deep well drilling advisor to the Kuwait National Oil Co. working with GEOMAN. The 22,000 to 35,000 feet hole was the deepest outside the United States, costing about 23 million dollars. Blakely notes future wells may be cheaper due to gained experience, with Kuwaitis supervising and other nationalities assisting.
