Freshmen Josh Schinkovec from Jefferson-Morgan and Kurt Bonnet from Canon-McMillan appeared in 12 and 24 games respectively for Waynesburg. At California University of Pennsylvania, Steve Sweich a 6'9" junior forward transferred from Akron, started 19 of 25, averaged 12.0 points and 5.1 rebounds, and led Cal in scoring and rebounding at times. Also contributing were Ryne Niemiec and Rashand Hatten, with Hatten averaging 12.3 points and 5.7 rebounds. Sweich and Hatten earned second-team all conference honors as Cal finished 15-12 and exited the PSUAC quarterfinals. Washington and Jefferson, led by E.J. Morascyzk, went 11-15 and fell by one point in the PAC quarterfinals ending a four-year semi-final run.

Venezuelan exchange student shines as lead in Belle Vernon musical
Carlos Romero, a Venezuela native, wowed with an Elvis style audition as Pharaoh, becoming the first exchange student to land a lead role in Rozell's musical. fluent in English, he studied since first grade and credits his brother’s Canada stint for language learning. He stayed with two host families, enjoying arepas and family dinners, and plans to open a business upon return before medical school.
