The 60th anniversary of Odd Fellowship in the United States was celebrated nationwide with a Moline event on April 25 as the real date, featuring Grand Master Orendorff’s oration and a later dance at Timm's Hall with the Light Guard Band. The May term of the Rock Island County Circuit Court starts Monday May Sth with Judge Glenn of Monmouth presiding. A large docket includes 174 civil and 145 chancery cases, plus an expanded criminal docket from the Grand Jury. Ten chancery cases seek divorce.

Death of Charles Milton Beal 11 in Zuma

Charles Milton Beal eldest son of Sami and Sarah Beal of Zuma died last Tuesday from cerebro spinal meningitis at age 11. He was the family’s only son, oldest of six children. Funeral held Wednesday at Zuma Centre Church with Rev. Palmer officiating. large turnout.

Republican County Convention Registers Delegates and Court House Meeting

The Republican County Convention in Rock Island elected delegates for the Galesburg Judicial Convention. E H Johnston of Port Byron was chairman, W C Beumnett of Moline secretary, with a long list of delegates. A separate Judicial Convention at Galesburg nominated Pleasants, Glenn, and Smith by acclamation, while a side gathering endorsed Pleasants and Glenn and substituted Capt Pepper for Judge Smith.
