After smallpox fears arise, her husband Frank's devotion and a cure of beauty by hardship reveal true worth, ending with a lasting happiness and the lingering nickname Pretty Mrs. Ogilvie.
A fragmented reminiscence recalls a long serving sexton known for grave humor at funeral rites. On one occasion a church procession with carriages paused as organ tones filled the air, eliciting a stranger’s remark about a funeral while the sexton bowed his head in understated ceremony.
