Milwaukee Road Expands Heavy Engine Freight Through Moline
Three railroads entering Moline rely on heavy engines for freight trains. Since opening the Kansas City line, Milwaukee sends daily from 70 to 88 cars hauled by snort ing moguls from the Iowa division. When Milwaukee adds passenger service, it will use large engines for speedy westbound trains. Burlington also reassigns older dumping locomotives, with 1300 class engines now in use on nearby divisions. St Louis passenger business remains heavy with frequent extra coaches.
