Dairy Profits and Farmer Drouth Prompt Milk Market Debate

During a county meeting farmers discussed dairy economics amid drouth and low prices. Greim showed a hypothetical farmer earning 1825 from milk, subtracting 445 in expenses, while a retailer could net 1380, suggesting a shift to farmer-sell more selective milk supply and higher prices for excess. Cow shortage fears loom as 500 cows may be gone by next season, prompting rules to limit surplus milk to retailers when supply is high.
