County infirmary at Coal Valley runs on work basis
Frank B. Wylie, steward, runs the Rock Island county infirmary farm near Coal Valley with a strict work doctrine. Inmates are required to do assigned labor. those who refuse are dismissed. The farm, home to about 97 inmates from multiple townships, has undergone major improvements aiming for self sustenance and orderly operation.
