Excursion by Naval Militia Boat At Rock Island
The Naval Militia boat chartered by Mesara Daggett and Butterworth made a pleasant trip Friday afternoon to the Hennepin canal area. The 80 by 7 foot craft carried two officers beats and eight other boats in requisitions intended for government deployment. A pipe blockage nearly caused an accident but was prevented by swift action and refilling. Eighty dollars in cash and papers were stolen from John Beckman that night after a rear depot entrance was unlocked.
