Scranton Virginia Coal Strike Shuts Mines and Jobs

Scranton Virginia May 12 There will be no coal mined today in the Scranton end of the anthracite region as companies meeting with general managers and superintendents agreed not to operate. Watertown Mourns Jesse Stone Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor

Jesse Stone state leader and former lieutenant governor of Wisconsin died at 8 17 PM Sunday after a long stomach cancer illness. The Watertown native and prominent capitalist banker and manufacturer had sought relief in the south, underwent an operation in Chicago, then returned home where his death followed days of expectancy. Stone, born August 23 138 in Lincoln England, came to America at five and was elected twice as a Republican to the lieutenant governorship, serving three terms.

Tragedy in Somerset as two youths injured by rifle
