Two Men Shoot Police Officer on Main Street

In Monroe County on a weekday afternoon, officers Thommen Howard and Josh R Joner were involved in a fatal shooting on the principal business street. Howard, an armed officer, was wounded and died after being shot multiple times as the assailants fired through a doorway. Police say the suspects fired six bullets before fleeing.
