Dawes Endorsed Amid Turbulent County Convention
Strong opposition emerges to endorsing Dawes as the Rock Island county Republican convention at the Illinois Theatre nominates Capt. W C Bennett for chair and Magill for representative. Delegates clash over credentials, committees, and state senator choice while McCabe and Simonson vie for sheriff and Magill is chosen by unanimous consent for representative.
