Ten persons were injured and three missing after the fourth floor of the Cleveland Baking Co building at 77 Central Avenue collapsed. Eighteen workers were present. ambulances rushed the injured to hospitals while debris and fire crews cleared the site. The four story brick structure remains standing but severely damaged.

Two men died Pauzel Maginnis and George Wharton. two others Charles Anderson and J Borie were seriously injured. Debris and scaffolding fell across the street as a derrick and granite cornice were displaced. The cause remains under investigation.
