Rock Island forms camp of Spanish American War Veterans
Forty four members from all service branches organized a Rock Island camp in a gun-room meeting led by Major W. T Channon with Frank Downs as secretary. Ed R Fittilsen addressed the group on aims, charter rolls were signed, and officers were elected led by W Tohannon as Commander and F L Tubbs as Senior Vice Commander. The group selected the name Biboney Bay Jammy Siboney Buyte on the north coast of uta for the new camp location.
