Davis Withdraws Not Guilty Plea in Embezzlement Case

West-bound train No 405 the Pittsburg and Detroit flyer struck a broken rail Thursday morning between Helena and Millersville and ditched. The wreck left several coaches in the ditch with mixed injuries. Three people were badly hurt including a Detroit passenger with a cut temple and broken ankle. A mail car clerk and baggage master were severely injured while a wreck train and physicians assisted.

Gov Yates Grants Midflight Stay for Hinckle

Peoria Illinois February 14 Governor Yates granted a respite to Joseph Ellaworth Hinckle the wife murderer scheduled for execution today. Hinckle learned of the stay after his attorneys Daly Watts conferred with the governor at Springfield and conveyed the news by wire. He cried for joy when told of the reprieve. Heavy Seas follows a separate Geneva New York fire report. The YMC A building housing a gymnasium burned violently and four stories went up in flames. Thirty boys escaped by ladders and local workers fled to the roof.
