Deere and Mansur Company Grows Into National Leader
The Deere and Mansur Company of Moline evolved from a small venture to a major national producer of agricultural implements. It now spans 16 acres with four story main buildings and extensive facilities including rail sidings, producing annually over 15 000 corn planters and similar volumes of disc harrows and hay tools, led by the rotary drop corn planter. The firm employs about 800 skilled workers, with modern plants, advanced machinery, and plans for newFoundry, machine shop, and offices costing 250 000 to 300 000 dollars.

Dedication of Molineity Public Hospital Held in Moance
Saturday afternoon August 27 1898 Judge J M Gould presided as palm and flower decorated hospital dedication ceremonies took place. Rev Willard Rev R Bryant offered prayers and Mrs E B McKeever presented hospital equipment to the board. The hospital cost about twenty thousand dollars and sits on ground purchased for ten thousand dollars with eight nurses led by Miss Roseborough of Chicago. The institution is sustained by a two mill tax and Judge Gould originated the bill.
