Lincoln-Way Knights out-rushed Lemont 203 to 54 yards to win 21-7 in the opener. Don Ferrell scored twice, Ron Kokal added a 32 yard interception return, and a safety by Howard Grimes highlighted a dominant defensive effort. Lemont's only score came on a 35 yard fumble return.

The Lincoln Way Band Boosters hire Bill Carnegie Orchestra of Joliet for the fall dance on Saturday Sept 28 in the school gym from 9 to 12. Tickets are 1 for adults and 75 cents for students available from boosters in Frankfort New Lenox Manhattan and Mokena or at the door. Proceeds fund cadet and advance band uniforms.
