Trikena Camp Schedules July Day Camp in Frankfort Area
Mothers in five Trikena Neighborhoods gather at St. Peter's United Church Frankfort to plan a July 10 14 day camp at Van Horn Woods Mokena from 9 00 a m to 3 00 p m with 415 scouts and 40 volunteers. Committee led by Mrs Lee Gericke includes co director Mrs Ernest Taylor and others handling registration site health and safety and equipment. Proceeds from a courtyard concert support the band tour to Denver Colorado in June.

Air Show at Lincoln-Way Campus Aims to Fund Band Trip
An air show at Lincoln Way High School on May 14 features sky diving from 7200 feet by James and Peggy Shannon of the Midwest Sky Diving Club and model rocket launches led by Glen Ellyn Rocket Research Society. Proceeds fund the Lincoln-Way Band trip to Denver. Greg Guzik and Tom LaPorte will participate with experimental rockets. a space-suited mouse may be launched. The event runs 2 p.m. with a rocket display, refreshments, and the band performing.

Steven Sorensen of St. Mary School Mokena entered a covered bridge painting through the Mokena Woman's Club in the Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs state competition. The piece won third in the 11th District and advances to state honors. the contest was limited to grade school pupils.
