Frankfort School Bond Vote Set for March 29
Voters in the Frankfort Grade School District No. 157 C will go to the polls Saturday March 29 to approve a 415000 bond issue. The district plans six new Chelsea School classrooms a learning center, plus remodeling at Chelsea and Frankfort schools to expand the library science labs and shower facilities. Enrollment has surged from 475 to 573 and is projected to 650 next September with 750 by 1970 1971, signaling a space shortage without the bond.

Pupils Escape Injury In Bus Car Collision
A St. Mary school bus carrying 38 pupils collided with a car at Wolf Road and 189th Street on a Monday afternoon. No injuries among the students were reported while 10-year-old Sam Caracci sustained a cut to the left ear.

Grass Fires Ravage Property Across Town
Grass fires across the area burned about 60 acres on the west side of Frankfort and 50 acres at the Andrew Corporation south of 153rd Street in Orland Park. Palos and Orland Park firefighters fought the blazes, damaging a former Nike barracks roof now used as a warehouse. Police urge caution as most fires stem from careless rubbish burning or arson.

The 8th annual physical education show at Lincoln Way High School screens March 28 with Astro Knights under Jerome Wiedman featuring gymnastic acts and comedy routines. Greg Krippel will perform on the side horse, and girls’ modern dance numbers, directed by Judith Robison, add a feminine touch. The program begins at 8 00 p m with no admission.
