Six New Lenox youths enrolled in Operation Cleanup repaired damage at the Rock Island rail road station after writing on walls and throwing ice cream. Arrangements are in place for a new post office in New Lenox. A contract has been signed for construction and a 10 year lease with four five year renewals. The facility on Cedar Street will cover about 10 000 square feet with a six thousand four hundred twelve square foot maneuvering area and a 180 square foot loading dock. Construction aims for completion by December 1 to handle the Christmas rush.

District bands prize winners named in Calumet City event

Jerry Lehmann 24 of Mokena joins eight walkers from San Francisco on a peace trek begun Dec. 1, 1960, passing Joliet March 30 and reaching Chicago that night. The group aims to spark thought on international peace and end at Moscow next November. Lehmann, a Joliet High and Oberlin alum, endured ankle trouble and did alternate service in Mexico as a conscientious objector.
