Giant Concert Friday Open to Public at Rich High Gym

A 150 piece band and 250 voice chorus from the Southwest Sub urban Conference will entertain the public Friday night March 23 at the Rich High School gym. The annual conference music festival will begin at 8 o clock after two days of intensive practice.

Mokena Joins Suit Over Zoning Rights Across Municipal Lines

The Mokena village council joins Illinois municipalities in a fund drive for a suit to clarify whether cities with official plans must approve subdivisions within a mile and a half of their boundaries. Mokena contributes $25 to the Illinois Municipal League effort as courts decide who governs unincorporated land near towns.

Investigators say two or more intruders familiar with the house broke in at 9 to 12 a.m. and stole jewelry valued at 650 and a collection of electronics totaling 1296. Items include a diamond ring and wedding band, TV, radios, a tape recorder, tapes, and kitchen appliances. Prints were lifted from a doorway. dog was locked in the garage.

Mokena Church to Screen Decade of Decision Film

Park View Baptist church in Mokena will host a Sunday showing of Billy Graham’s Decade of Decision. The 75 minute film documents the Graham team's decade of ministry and is hosted by Rev. Charles B. The Girl's Glee and Sophomore Chorus present Knight Life a vaudevil show at Lincoln Way High School March 30. Tom Olson and Tom Thompson coach the production with the Lincoln Way dance band providing music.
