Charles E D Teague 89 Mokena native dies after brief illness
Charles E D Teague age 89 of 19917 Center Street Mokena Illinois died last Thursday March 13 in Silver Cross Hospital Joliet following a brief illness. He was born September 26 1879 in Ohio and lived in Chicago before moving to Mokena 14 years ago. He was a charter member and custodian of Parkview Baptist Church and enjoyed rug making. He worked 30 years as a printing press operator for American Tag Co and later for the American Bible Society. Survived by wife Louise who died in 1967 two daughters Mrs Harriet Harling and Mrs Pearl Burkham two sons Lyman Teague and Rev Louis Teague nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral Monday at Hirsch Memorial Chapel Tinley Park with Rev C Edwin Granholm officiating. Interment St Johns Cemetery Mokena.

Grass Fire Destroys 1500 Evergreens in Mo kena
Carelessness in burning rubbish started a grass fire on 192d St Mo kena on Tuesday of last week destroying about 1500 evergreen trees owned by Wilbur Schalk valued at over 3000 dollars. Firemen fought the blaze to prevent spread to homes.
