Orland Park Board Adopts Large Appropriation Ordinance
Orland Park village board approved an annual appropriation ordinance for May 1, 1963 to April 30, 1964 totaling 407 241.87 dollars. Pageant Draws 3 000 At Fiesta Days In Mokena
A July Fourth pageant in Mokena presented the town’s history from the 1830s to the 1920s. Mrs. Vernon Lankenau wrote the script and directed with Mrs. Robert Mackey. 35 cast members performed under a huge frame on a Welsh Lumber truck stage. The event opened with Nike base color guards and featured local costumes and music.

The Palos-Orland YMCA Blue Devils seek a new head coach after Jim Osborn's transfer. The club plans a Sept 14 jamboree at Elmhurst Y with eight minutes offense and defense per period for 11 to 13 year olds weighing 95 to 125 pounds. Lincoln-Way Junior Queen Crowned at Mokena Fiesta 1963
Carol Benson, 16, junior at Lincoln-Way High School, was crowned Lincoln-Way Junior Queen during Fiesta Days in Mokena. The event opened June 29 and closed with fireworks on July 4 in Community Park, with Gale Harling placing the crown. Second place went to Joyce Seal ($25) and third to Marcia Schubert ($15).
