Three Day Fourth of July Celebration in Mokena
The Mokena Lions Club and Mokena Chamber of Commerce host a three day Fourth of July festival at Mokena Community Park starting July 3. A parade on the Fourth at 1 30 pm travels from Carpenter Street School to the park with Lincoln Way High and Mokena Grade School bands. Rides run 2 to 5 pm Saturday with an auction 6 30 to 8 pm at the park conducted by Norman Strassenberg. Fire departments bring water fights, children’s races, and dancing, with fireworks at 9 30 pm and prize distribution afterward.
