Deaths In Apparent Murder-Suicide In Lockport
A Matteson teacher Mrs Joan Hillock 44 and her son Sam 18 were found dead in Lockport home in what investigators call a murder suicide. Sam reportedly shot his mother at a kitchen sink then killed himself with a 16 gauge shotgun after dragging her body to the bedroom. Coroner Willard G Blood and state police examined the scene and seized the weapons. Mrs Hillock formerly taught in Tinley Park and Kirby McIIntosh schools. Funeral services were held at Goodale chapel in Lockport.

Another Row At Schmuhl Clarence Day Faces Disorder Charge
Clarence Day 77 year old Schmuhl school principal set to appear before Justice of the Peace Anthony Mackay in Joliet on a disorderly conduct charge. The mother of a pupil alleges Day pushed her from a room and closed the door in her face. Day denies pushing but says she was disturbing pupils. The incident began January 16 after her son fell and cut his lip and Day telephoned to inform her, though she says the call came too late.
