Lincoln-Way Band Returns From Cedar River Camp
Sixty members of the Lincoln-Way high school band returned home after a ten day Lincoln-Way Band Camp at J. W. Wells State Park Cedar River Michigan. Robert C. Taylor led a 12 member staff with Mrs. Taylor and others coordinating meals and activities. Dennis Pfeifer organized the recreation program with help from Carole Hammond and Barbara Taylor. Bonnie Fredin and Fred Kieslar sang solos during concerts.

C of C Set to Hear It on Questionnaire Findings
The Mokena Chamber of Commerce dinner tonight at Willow Run Golf Club will feature Frank Grey reporting on a member questionnaire about the chamber’s present and future. Supt James Ennis will discuss state and federal education grants and their local use. Dinner at 6 30 p m.

St. Anthony Church to Host Weekend Festival
St Anthony church of Lincoln Estates will hold a festival on Saturday August 21 and Sunday August 22 featuring rides and games. Saturday evening at 8 p.m. square dancing will be held in the church basement with Eddie Fields calling.

Unusual Accident Fatal To 18 Year Old Lincolnwood Boy
Walter Blaess Jr 18 of Lincolnwood New Lenox township died after injuries from an accident on Circle Drive Lincolnwood Aug 2. He fell from a moving car, struck his head and died at Silver Cross hospital after brain surgery. Funeral services were held at Baskerville chapel and St Mary church Joliet with burial at St Joseph cemetery Joliet.

Area Librarians Attend State Workshop in Champaign
Will county librarians joined 35 attendees at the Illinois State Library Workshop in Champaign August 9 through 13. Participants included Irene Peterson New Lenox Effie Dyer Manhattan Edna Delonais and Ruth Drassler from Bradley plus Rudolph Engelhardt of Mokena. Leona Ringering Park Forest chief librarian led sessions on Book Reviewing Through Periodicals and Book Reviewing Methods. The event highlighted book selection with Baker and Taylor’s James Thompson addressing the Book Jobber's Role.
