Tragedy Follows Wealthy New York Marriage Split
In New York a former wife of Walter Suydam and Frederick Noble, a young plumber, died in a staged double suicide with Noble after leaving her husband for him. Police found Nobles and the wife in their apartment, both partially clothed, with gas jets on. Suydam, later involved in the case, claimed he came to help as a friend. He later struck a passerby in Fifth Avenue. Noble’s body was buried on Long Island. The affair began after Mrs. Suydam deserted her husband for Noble, leading to a court decree and a subsequent remarriage.
