Al G Barnes Circus arrives in Moberly drawing a large crowd from across the county. The show features wild animals including African lions bears jaguars and exotic acts. Marthe Florine leads the jungle themed performance with Alice in Jungle Land and a stirring musical number by Miss Lee Clair and Joseph Miller.
Captain Elmer Moon, veteran polar bear trainer, was badly injured Tuesday afternoon during A G Barnes show in Chillicothe. He fought a large white bear after it gripped his forearm, leaving the limb severely mangled. Moon was taken to Carrolltown hospital in serious condition. the incident shocked thousands of spectators as the bear reportedly remained extremely aggressive.
Belfast reports a lull at noon as yesterday’s truce faltered briefly leaving the city with a death toll of sixteen and over a hundred in hospitals. Damages run to thousands of pounds as negotiations continue. Dublin notes a British reply to be forwarded to London last night, not ending talks yet.

A Canadian steamer importer was found adrift in the Pacific with thirty four men aboard. The vessel had been reported in distress for weeks and was finally located after efforts by harbor authorities. The ship is in the care of the Canadian Observer and is expected to reach safety.

A coroner's jury in Orrick Missouri ruled Emmett Riffe died of apoplexy likely from blood rush to the head. He was found dead in a third floor Keystone hotel room after asking for a call at two. No signs of violence or intoxication were observed and an early motive was not established.
