Five weddings in Moberly depot as trains bring brides

In Moberly five brides and grooms arrived by different trains this week to wed locals, turning the depot into a wedding scene. Residents lined streets cheering, while rumour spreads that many more couples plan to marry soon. Nearby, Jennings plans to claim Dr Brown property on South Konruth Street after extensive interior and exterior improvements. Perry of the Moberly Rust Co. notes housing demand rising. vacant homes are scarce as the town grows.

Tornadoes Hit Lin City Causing Damage and Injuries

A series of tornadoes swept through Lin City along the river, damaging homes and a factory district. Officials report injuries and property loss as the storms moved northward, with reports of a person swept from a residence and crews assessing the affected areas in New Ortellin and nearby wards.

District Tribes Meet Here in October Program

The Motherly District Tribe of Ben Hur will convene in our city on October lath with many Ben Hur members from IQ counties expected. The meeting includes prayers, speeches, and district officer elections. A late health update notes two locals near Clark dying from a disease, deep community sorrow follows. The Presbytery met in the city with officers named and plans discussed, but no conclusions reached on pending matters.

Mia Curry Hosts Thursday Whist Club at Weot Rolling Street

Mia late J Curry entertained the Thursday Whist Club at her Weot Rolling street home yesterday afternoon. Hours were two to five with guests praising the hostess. Whist won honors for the East and West by Mesdames Vilcher and McSweeny and for the North and South by Mesdames Lannal and Vorney. An elegant three course luncheon was served and guests departed voting Mrs Curry a most charming hostess.

Revival by Rev Chis Scoville Draws Big Sullivan Meeting

Rev Chis Scoville and his singer hold a large revival at the Central Christian Church in Sullivan. After ten days the Sullivan meeting reports 306 additions, including 40 in a single day, with delegations from Decatur Mattoon and Charleston and others across the region.
