Moberly Schools History and Enrollment Overview
Moberly’s school system serves about 6 000 church members and 2 465 children in school, with Moberly High School enrolling 623 students this year up from 367 in 1910. The district employs 73 teachers, including twenty at the high school, with annual operations exceeding 320 000 dollars and roughly 44 dollars spent per student per year. The first school opened under Superintendent Tuck Powell, with Walker as his assistant. the first commencement saw two graduates, Wisp Rothwell and Arthur Grimes, in 18—. Central School built 1876 and burned December 5. the current high school incorporates the later building. West Park 1885, First Park 1886, South Park 1893, Northeast Park 1913, Annex Le-Wigh 1926, and Southeast and Central added in 1920.

Yonkers Mayor Dies After Suspected Self Inflicted Wounds
Yonkers mayor Walter Taussig was found wounded near his home and died in hospital. Police said the wound may have been self inflicted though no motive is established. Taussig, a Democrat, lost bid for re election this month and was vice president of the American Chain Co and involved in Industrial Enterprises. He was brother of economist Frank W Taussig.
