Massachsetts and New York are drawn into an inquiry into fake doctors tied to a Missouri medical diploma ring. An extraordinary grand jury in Trantford will continue investigations and dispatch transcripts of evidence to the other states as needed.
In Jefferson City on November 80, Mrs Pearl Wyman Nelker won a divorce case begun eight years earlier. The Missouri Supreme Court upheld the St Louis circuit court ruling granting her alimony of 27 dollars plus 850 dollars monthly. The decision was 4 to 3 with Judges Blair and Woodson dissenting.
Judge Graves condemns the case as a massive recitation of martial infelicity accusing both plaintiff and defendant of equal fault in caustic language. Graven files a dissenting opinion excoriating all concerned.

Thomas Richard Fowler died yesterday afternoon at 4 35 at his residence 224 Walnut street. He was 47 last February 9. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, among others.

The Missouri Supreme Court overruled all motions for rehearing on three cases challenging the St. Louis zoning ordinance. It held the measure confiscatory and invalid for destroying private property without compensation. Three justices dissented.

Charles Birger gunman and Half-Way House proprietor wounded Sunday night in a gun battle that left gangster Louis Doering fatally shot. Birger, guarded in hospital, maintained Doering was killed by a companion after Birger fired first.
An inquest began in a St Louis case linked to a $2,000,000 mail holdup. Birger refused to identify a fellow gang member. the Arco mine payroll robbery was cited. Five witnesses testified as Dearing died yesterday and gave no further details.
In Oklahoma City on November 20 the impeachment managers stated Walton’s removal reflected the people’s mandate. Jack Walton, famed for his anti Ku Klux Klan stance, was found guilty on 11 of 16 articles and removed from office. Six charges were dropped. Walton said he would appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the ouster.
Mrs Elias H Mortimer wife of the chief witness against Col Forbes requests permission from the senate committee investigating the Veterans bureau to defend herself against reflections tied to her testimony. The committee after a conference agreed to allow Mortimer to answer questions posed by her counsel.
Police respond to Ed Fristoe home on Chandler Street where Fristoe, in poor health and mentally affected, sat on the back porch whetting a butcher knife and declared intent to cut his throat. He is placed in a city hall cell for temporary safety pending care.
London reports a shift in the Allied stance as the United States and Britain influence France toward backing a military action against Germany. A stiff note to Germany and allied control were discussed, with ambassadors in Paris expected to reach a compromise as talks continued.

Mrs Gito Burkland hosted a Tuesday Bridge Club luncheon at the Merchants Hotel at one o'clock. Members then played bridge at Mrs Graves Maupins home in the afternoon.

Mrs. Zonas M. Conley died at McCormick Hospital after a week with pneumonia. Her brother Burnham Littrell also died of pneumonia in Kansas City within days. Services held for Mrs. Conley at Mahan & Son with burial in Oakland. Survivors include husband James L. Conley and four brothers.
