Washington D C November 13 Judge John W Carland of the eighth circuit court of appeals died at his home today at age sixty eight He had suffered protracted bronchitis and died from a hemorrhage in his throat and chest Carland was appointed to the federal bench by President Cleveland in 1896 and named to the circuit court in 1910 by President Taft
Police investigated arsenic poisoning linked to the deaths of husbands in Chicago. The case centered on two women, Mrs. Tinie Klimek and Mrs. Nellie Sturmer, and the new victim was discovered today.
Judge William N. Evans longtime Missouri judge and former state Democratic chairman died at his West Plains home after an illness of over a year.
