Dupe nurse's plea yields clemency for man

St. Joseph, Mo May 28 Leslie Anthony a discharged soldier pleaded guilty to bigamy and on a clemency plea from the Red Cross nurse he had married while he had a wife and three children at Waterloo Ind. He was fined six months in jail. The nurse Grace Milas connected to Camp Grant had overseas service and later remarries. Police report a separate burglary at Claude Terrill's store in Jacksonville with costly goods stolen.

Men of 89th Division to visit Mobherly Friday

Word has it that 1227 men of the 89th Division belonging to the 177th regiment will arrive in Mobherly Friday morning. They will march to Tanvohill Park where a welcome will be held and all local businesses are asked to close so residents can attend. Canteen staff prepare to serve the arriving troops and members are urged to dress in the uniform with blue veil and regulation apron. The full membership should gather at the park at 1 pm Friday to march from Theodore Bazan Post to the American Legion Lessons.
